THE FACE BEHIND BATH & BARK

Hi I’m Amy, the owner and groomer at Bath & Bark.
I didn’t grow up with dogs but everything changed when I brought Lady home. She showed me just how special the bond with a dog can be. When Lady’s original groomer moved away, I decided to try grooming her myself. As an anxious dog, I didn’t want to put her through the stress of starting somewhere new so working with her at home felt like the right choice. To my surprise I absolutely loved it. I quickly realised how much I genuinely enjoyed grooming and how rewarding it was to work at her pace and see the difference it made. That’s what inspired me to take the leap into training professionally, and now I’m so excited to work with dogs every day, helping them feel their best.
Lady is a big part of what drives my approach. She’s an anxious girl who can find new people and places overwhelming. Because of her I understand how important it is to create a calm, quiet space for dogs who need a bit of extra care and patience. That’s why all grooms are 1 to 1 so your dog gets my full attention with no noisy salon stress. It’s especially helpful for nervous dogs, pups new to grooming or those who just prefer a slower pace.
I run my salon from my converted home studio in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It’s equipped with an electric grooming table that lowers and raises to suit each dog’s needs, ideal for those who don’t like being lifted. Every part of the grooming experience is built around making it as calm and comfortable as possible for your dog. I may be new to the industry but I’m passionate and dedicated to providing the best care for every dog I meet.
I’m Level 3 qualified and fully insured, holding a certificate in Dog Grooming and Styling as well as certifications in Canine Emergency First Aid and Emmi® Pet Dental Care. I focus not just on making your dog look great but also on supporting their overall wellbeing. Grooming isn’t just about appearance it’s an essential part of keeping your dog happy, comfortable and healthy. I’m always learning and improving my skills through additional ongoing training and courses to ensure I can offer the very best for every dog I meet.

Because every dog is different, I take the time to tailor each grooming session to suit their individual needs. Appointment times can vary as I work at each dog’s pace rather than rushing, allowing the time needed for them to feel settled and comfortable throughout their groom.
Before their first visit, you’ll be asked to complete a New Client Form so I can learn more about your dog’s health, behaviour and any specific needs. It’s important to me that we work together to make sure they receive the best care right from the start. Every dog that comes to me is treated as if they were my own with patience, kindness and plenty of reassurance along the way (and treats if allowed!).
I can’t wait to welcome you and your furry friend into my little grooming family.
